That's a view. Two riders starting the last big descent on day1.
And it certainly was big, and steep, and fast and, to top it all of the sun came out too.
Before the calf burning walk to this point, we'd ridden, walked and dragged ourselves and bikes through some stunning Borders scenery.
Some of the highlights have got to include the great forest singletrack at the start and the rolling descent to lunch. Bad bits? I believe it was called Captains Road. Clearly he was a captain of mud. Bottomless, smelly, up hill mud.
All in all though, a stunning 76k ride through the borders. Special thanks to Gaz, Richie and Matt for the chat, pacing and comedy falls.
That's it for Day1, only 45k tomorrow, with a time trial in the evening. I start the TT 30secs after Keith Bontrager so I'll let you know tomorrow how I shape up to one of the founders of mountain biking ;o)
Ps: Racing Ralphs: now _there'_ a comedy tyre for mud and roots!
