Also, everyone felt the same and the low morale was infectious (a bit like the stomach bug that seems to an going around)However, there was a time trial this morning. That soon perked everyone up!It was a fantastic course. 10k of mixed fireroad and singletrack climbing, then some more climbing just to be really uncomfortable. Then 5k down the Climax descent, possibly the closest I've come to an "alpine" descent in the UK.The rain has washed away pretty much all the soil leaving roots and rocks behind. There's some big rocks in there! I'm glad i've dragge those big forks around all week now. However, going as fast as you can for ~50mins first thing in the morning isn't the best way to set yourself up for a 65k linking stage ride. That hurt. A lot.I've no idea how many rivers we crossed or axle deep puddles we rode through, but there was definitely more water than trail under my bike today. The run came out today. Twice. And it only rained 6 times. One more special stage tomorrow and then I'm in my granny ring for the rest of it.Sleep now...
