Toronto Lights

A trip back to my old stomping grounds in Toronto in July made for an opportunity to catch with some old friends, make a few new ones and meet a whole new family.
While The City Sleeps 1/2
The same could be said for some of the photography from the trip: 10-30 sec exposures on a tripod are a tried and tested option for capturing lights trails, but late night LED hooping is a new subject for me.
Light Cycle
Following the hooping shots and with light trails still on my mind, light painting was an obvious choice when it came to taking advantage of the dock at the cottage on Lake Muskoka. Tripod and cable release again and this time I also visited the "spin your head torch like a madman" approach that was successful a while back in Scotland.
New this time out though were the beautiful reflections in the calm lake and the slowly setting sun giving more time to play with the balance painting time and ambient exposure (and the monster Mosquitos that quickly developed a taste for any exposed Scottish flesh)
Sunset on The Dock
Thanks for the week go to Lauren and family, Mr and Mrs Sharkey for the accommodation. Morgan, Sadie and Karyn for the hooping. And to Everyone else that came out to all the right pubs at all the right times. See you all again soon hopefully.
